How Ava Lux Builds a Kabbalistic Natal Chart

The Ava Lux method separates three things that are often blurred together: astronomical calculation, source tradition and interpretation. That separation matters. It lets the reader know which parts are measured, which parts come from texts, and which parts are the interpretive craft of the chart.

1. Birth data and the astronomical chart

The process begins with date, exact birth time and place. Planetary positions and house geometry are calculated from the sky at that moment. Ava Lux uses Swiss Ephemeris, a high-precision ephemeris developed by Astrodienst and based on JPL planetary ephemerides.

The sample document currently reads both Placidus and Whole Sign houses. When the systems place a planet differently, the document can hold both placements open rather than hiding the divergence.

2. Hebrew date and the sunset boundary

The Gregorian birth date is converted into the Hebrew calendar. Because a Hebrew date begins at sunset rather than midnight, births near or after local sunset can belong to the following Hebrew date. The “sunset rule” in Ava Lux is therefore a date-boundary check, not a mystical calculation.

3. Month, zodiac and Hebrew letter

Sefer Yetzirah describes twelve elemental letters and connects them with twelve constellations, twelve months and twelve “directors” in the human being. Ava Lux uses this textual correspondence to identify the letter and month associated with the Hebrew date.

4. Tikkun and the lunar nodal axis

The broader Kabbalistic idea of Tikkun is classical. The practice of identifying the South Node with familiar or carried patterns and the North Node with a direction of correction belongs to contemporary Kabbalistic astrology. Ava Lux uses that modern convention as a working interpretive tool and does not present it as a direct astronomical statement or a single ancient rule.

5. The Tree of Life and the ten Sefirot

The Sefirot form a central symbolic architecture in Kabbalistic thought. Ava Lux reads selected chart patterns through qualities associated with the Sefirot and the three-column structure of the Tree of Life. This layer is interpretive. The astronomical chart itself does not “contain” Sefirot in the way it contains planetary coordinates.

6. The 72 Names framework

The tradition of seventy-two three-letter combinations is associated with Exodus 14:19–21 and later Kabbalistic interpretation. The Ava Lux sample assigns a personal sequence through a degree-based method. That assignment rule is an Ava Lux / contemporary interpretive method and should be documented as such rather than attributed wholesale to the biblical verses.

7. Writing the chart

After the calculations and correspondences are assembled, the document is written around the specific configuration. The writing stage is not an automated horoscope template. This is where the chart moves from data and source material into an individual symbolic reading.

8. Limits of the reading

A Kabbalistic Natal Chart is a spiritual and reflective product. Body passages are symbolic and do not diagnose illness. Money passages do not predict income or replace financial advice. Relationship passages do not replace psychological or legal judgment. Transits are interpretive timing frameworks rather than certainties.

What happens when the birth time is unknown?

The exact time is important for the Ascendant, houses and other time-sensitive components. If it is unknown, Ava Lux can still work with date-based material, but the unavailable components should be omitted or clearly marked rather than described as equally reliable.
