Yesod (Foundation) is one of the central Sefirot in the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. It is best understood relationally — as part of a system of flows and balances — rather than as a fixed personality type.
What does Yesod mean?
Yesod is usually translated as Foundation. In the standard Tree of Life layout it appears middle column above Malkhut. Its central interpretive field includes connection, transmission, channel and relational bonding.

Yesod gathers and transmits the forces above it toward manifestation in Malkhut. It is less about isolated possession than about linkage.
Traditional symbolic body correspondence
Later Kabbalistic teaching often maps the Sefirot onto the human form. Yesod is associated with generative / reproductive symbolism in traditional body mappings. Ava Lux treats these as symbolic correspondences, not medical anatomy or diagnosis.
Yesod is not a planet or zodiac sign
The Sefirot are Kabbalistic structures, not astronomical objects. A natal chart does not calculate “the degree of Yesod.” Any connection between a Sefirah and planetary symbolism is an interpretive correspondence added by a later system.
How Ava Lux uses Yesod
Ask whether the message, desire or intention is actually reaching its destination. Yesod is about the quality of connection, not only the content.
Inside the Kabbalistic Natal Chart, this question is placed beside the actual natal placements rather than substituted for them. The chart may use Yesod to organize a pattern that appears through several placements, but the Sefirah itself is not pretending to be astronomical data.
Keep the whole Tree in view
No Sefirah is meant to function alone. The usefulness of Yesod comes from its relationship with the other forces in the Tree. Read it alongside the ten-Sefirot overview before turning it into a personality label.
