The textual correspondence
Sefer Yetzirah organizes twelve simple Hebrew letters alongside twelve zodiacal constellations and twelve months. In the ordering used here, Yud corresponds with Elul and Virgo. Different textual recensions and later commentaries can order some secondary correspondences differently, which is why Ava Lux names the version instead of presenting one chart as universally uncontested.
Elul in the Jewish calendar
Elul is traditionally a month of preparation, introspection, repentance and mercy before the High Holidays. Elul closes the month-counting sequence before Tishrei opens the civil year. The month therefore carries a Jewish historical and ritual context that cannot be reduced to a generic zodiac personality profile.
Virgo as a modern astrological layer
Modern astrology associates Virgo with discrimination, repair, service, technique, detail and self-critique. Those meanings belong to the later astrological interpretive tradition. They are not literal definitions supplied by Sefer Yetzirah.
The Yud layer
In the Gra-version ordering used by Ava Lux, Yud is associated with action. The value of the correspondence is not that one Hebrew letter “proves” a personality trait. It creates a second symbolic question beside the zodiac sign.

Finding your Hebrew month
Your Hebrew month must be calculated from the actual birth date. Because the Jewish day begins in the evening, a birth near sunset may require the exact local time and place to determine the correct Hebrew date.
